Jack Tinsley (Senior Firefighter)

It is with great sadness that I advise of the loss of retired First Class Firefighter Jack Frederick Tinsley who passed away on 18 May 2025.
First Class Firefighter Tinsley commenced his firefighting career on 5 October 1959 and served at Ann Street, Roma Street, Annerley and Camp Hill stations for over 40 years until his retirement on 11 July 2000.
For his service Jack was awarded the National Medal in 1981, the National Medal First and Second Clasps in 2000, and the Diligent and Ethical Service Medal and First, Second and Third clasps in 2007.
On behalf of QFD I extend my deepest sympathies to Jack’s son, Station Officer Shane Tinsley, his family, friends and colleagues. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
