It is with great sadness that I advise of the loss of retired Senior Firefighter Mark Gosney (Gos), who passed away on 18 May 2026.
Mark commenced his firefighting career on 12 February 1996, serving in Brisbane, predominantly on the south side, attaining the rank of Senior Firefighter. Mark retired on 3 October 2023 after serving his community for over 27 years.
Mark was awarded the National Medal in 2019, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Medal and First Clasp in 2021 and the National Medal First Clasp in 2022.
Mark’s funeral service will be held as follows:
