Keith Branch (Station Officer)

NOTICE TO ALL STAFF QUEENSLAND FIRE AND RESCUE GREATER BRISBANE REGION
It is with great sadness that I advise of the loss of retired Station Officer Keith Branch, who passed away on 30 June 2026.
Keith commenced his firefighting career in 1952 at the age of 17, as an Auxiliary firefighter in Gympie and then moved to Mount Isa as a permanent firefighter before moving to Mary Kathleen Station. Keith relocated to Brisbane, where he served in the 1960’s at Kemp Place, Hamilton, Chermside and Roma Street before the opening of Taigum Fire Station where he served as Station Officer. Keith moved to the role of Fire Prevention and Safety Officer, District Office, Sunshine Coast, before retiring in 1994 after serving his community for 42 years.
Keith was awarded the National Medal in 1996, and the Diligent and Ethical Services Medal, First and Second Clasps in 2008.
Keith’s funeral service will be held as follows:
