It is with sadness that I advise of the loss of retired Senior Firefighter John (JJ) Ryan who passed away on 2 August 2026.
John commenced his firefighting career on 2 June 1958 and served for 40 years until his retirement on 10 July 1998.
John was awarded the National Medal in 1998 and the Diligent and Ethical Service Medal and First, Second and Third Clasps in 2008.
John’s funeral and Celebration of Life will be held as follows:
