NOTICE TO ALL STAFF

It is with great sadness that I advise of the loss of retired Station Officer Mark McMenaman who passed away on 19 December 2025.
Mark commenced his firefighting career in the Metropolitan Fire Service, Melbourne, serving from 9 July 1984 to 9 July 2004 before commencing in Queensland in August 2004. Mark served predominantly on the south side of Brisbane including Kemp Place, Annerley and Mount Ommaney Fire and Rescue Stations. Mark retired in November 2022 after serving for 38 years.
In 2012 Mark received the 2010-2011 Queensland Flood & Cyclone Citation and was awarded a Commissioners Unit Commendation in 2022.
Mark’s funeral service will be held as follows:
Date: Tuesday 6 January 2026
Time: 2:00pm
Place: Centenary Memorial Gardens
353 Wacol Station Road Sumner
Dress: Senior Officers – Tunic and Medals.
Station Officers and Firefighters – cap, tie and medals
(No baseball caps)
Mark’s family welcome all those that knew Mark to join in remembering him at a reception that will follow the service at Monier Hotel, 168 Monier Road, Darra.
