William (Bill) Vickerman (Senior Firefighter)
RFFAQ has been advised of the passing of William (Bill) Vickerman. RFFAQ extend our condolences to the family and friends of Bill.
A notification from the Assistant Commissioner, Greater Brisbane Region;
It is with great sadness that I advise of the loss of a former colleague, Senior Firefighter William Vickerman, who passed away on 1 October 2025.
William commenced his firefighting career at Annerley Fire and Rescue Station on 22 September 1975, serving predominantly on the south side of Brisbane until he retired on 7 July 2011 after serving his community for almost thirty-six years.
William was awarded the National Medal in 1992, the Diligent and Ethical Service Medal, first and second clasps in 2008 and the 2010-2011 Queensland Flood and Cyclone Citation in 2012.
William’s funeral service will be held as follows:
